Com “Histórias da minha pele” dou continuidade ao projeto “pele da minha pele”.

Cada intervenção escultórica é um fragmento de memória ligada física e espiritualmente com a anterior. Fragmentos no tempo de uma experiência interior materializadas no mármore (eu pele), não como necessidade de perpetuar (per petram), mas sim de expor a fragilidade da nossa condição através da epiderme do material, num fluxo que vive no ritmo do movimento, na forma e na luz, uma verdadeira linguagem do sensível. No processo, o frágil e efémero estão presentes, o material levado ao limite da resistência e tensão cede, desagrega-se criando um todo processual onde o acidente também é resultado estético.

Estas narrativas parciais são articuladas e constituem um caminho que se vai fazendo, como uma construção progressiva no devir de obra em obra no espaço e tempo de cada exposição

With “Stories of my skin” I give continuity to the project “Skin of my Skin”. Each sculptural intervention is a fragment of memory connected physically and spiritually with its previous ancestor. The fragments in time of a spiritual and interior experience are materialized through the marble (I-skin). With no need to perpetuate (Per petram), it exposes the fragility of our condition through the epidermis of the material, in a flux that lives through the rhythm of the movement, through the shape and light, a real and truthful language of the sensitive. In the spoken process, the fragile and ephemeral are always present. The material is taken to the limit of its resistance, so much that tension gives in and the material disaggregates. Then it creates a process where the accident contributes to the aesthetic of the work itself.

This partial narrative is articulated and contributes to a self-made path like a progressive construction in the beginning of my works in space and time of each exposition.

O meu trabalho é sempre fruto de um duplo movimento, que se move simultaneamente para o interior e para o exterior. A ação que dá forma à obra corresponde também a uma modificação do espaço íntimo, de tal modo que o exterior e o interior se moldam mutuamente. Este diálogo ininterrupto dá origem ao seu carácter híbrido.

A interação tecida numa fronteira poética, extremamente delicada e ousada ao mesmo tempo, com o papel como matéria e o fio como símbolo. Um fio que é epifania e metáfora do frágil, que, ao ser trançado, torna-se forte, transforma-se numa textura densa e resistente. Como acontece também com a palavra, o texto.

A subtileza do fio organiza o tempo, a ligação, a continuidade e o ritmo dos fragmentos de literatura sem leitura. Esse fio de Ariadne que guia a memória no labirinto que, por vezes, no fazer e desfazer do enredo, com fidelidade à dúvida e à expectativa do inesperado, ressurge.

Girando, entrelaçando, enrolando, encaixando as peças, nesse movimento cíclico se desenvolve o jogo da comunicação.

My work is always the result of a double movement, which advances outward and inward simultaneously. The action that shapes the work also corresponds to a modification of the intimate space, in such a way that the external and the internal are mutually reflected. From this uninterrupted dialogue its hybrid nature is born.

The interaction woven into a poetic border, extremely delicate and daring at the same time, with paper as material and thread as symbol. A thread that is an epiphany and a metaphor for the fragile, which, when braided, becomes a strong, dense and resistant texture. As also happens with the word, the text.

The subtlety of the thread organizes the time, the link, the continuity and the rhythm of the fragments of literature without reading. That Ariadne's thread that guides memory within the labyrinth that, sometimes, in the making and undoing of the weft, with fidelity to doubt and the expectation of the unexpected, resurfaces.

Spinning, intertwining, wrapping, fitting the pieces together, in this cyclical movement the game of communication develops.
